Hi! Georgia here:)

I'm so happy you are here, thank for joining with me in the journey of crafting everything from bread to blankets, pottery to poetry, etc. Well we probably won't even be getting to the world of petty for a while, it was just a great 'p' word to make that sentence really shine.

Anyway! If you are reading this, it means you may have an interest in BAKING ARTISAN BREAD! Well if thats you, you've come to the right place.

ree

I began my bread journey only 6 months ago and I am so proud of the beautiful breads I'm creating, and guess what I DON'T USE A STARTER (yet). So, as most of my crafting blogs will go, I have spent the money and experimented with the things so that I can narrow down what you NEED to get started. We will start budget friendly, and end with the more expensive goods:)

Amazon baking checklist starts here!

(I need to be honest with you, I got it off of my wedding registry, so I didn't have to buy it, but there are cheaper options here and here!)

  • BONUS SECRET^ Every loaf I have ever made starts with the recipe that came inside of my Emile Henry dutch oven.... ITS SO WORTH IT!

  • After I got my bread oven, I bought myself this book... and let me tell you! It's a deep dive but it is also VERY eye opening to just how wild this hobby can get! Beautiful book, makes a great breakfast table flip-thru!

  • The simplest mixing bowls which you probably already have! I use These with a silicon bottom which helps with not sliding on the counter!

  • I like to have 1 metal mixing bowls and 1 glass one! This is what I use for glass HERE

  • And finally, something I did NOT start with but now I always want to use it is a good little proofing bowl:)

Now if you're anything like me, I love me a little KIT with everything I need, and I can afford to splurge as long as my husband and our friends are benefitting from the delicious breads:) this kit is rated an overall best seller on amazon! And will for sure get you started with more than enough STUFF!

Some extra supplies you might grow into if you want to get real precise include:

  • Digital Kitchen Scale: This one looks quite clean and snazzy but a great price!

  • Dough Whisk ; I personally don't have one, but I like to get my hands messy...

The truth is there is one really expensive thing that has changed my whole world in my kitchen. Not only does it air fry, but it is a whole extra oven, toaster, warming drawer, with convection and super convection, and so many other things. Truly the best countertop appliance that money can buy (obviously without spending $400+...)

  • You might already have one, but if you DONT this thing has changed my life for ALL areas of my cooking but it has a WARMING option please splurge on this thing: Breville Air Fry DO EVERYTHING thing.

Thanks for tuning into my random diary of amazon finds that I use to make my world go around! I'm doing everything on a budget, so join me in exploring your dreams using well made, but not CRAZY expensive equipment!

The world of crochet may seem intimidating to those who didn't start young. Well, welcome, my friend because I'm 26 years old and start at the beginning of last year! I've already made some incredible projects that I'm extremely proud of and I'm here to tell you what you really need to get started.

THERE IS SO MUCH OUT THERE TO BUY! I wish that I had a comprehensive tool list to start with , I would've saved a lot of money! Another disclaimer: I definitely am biased towards making baby blankets, so there is a lot of that good stuff on here!

Making things is a passion, and if you've got the bug for it, you are in good company! I love to make and create all kinds of things. For my day job I am actually a professional potter. So I'd say that keeping my hands moving and creating constantly really gives me a great outlet for creativity, gifts, etc.

In this blog post I am going to make these products readily available for you to start crocheting immediately. I have tried to keep this hobby under control in the spending department, so I would like to guide you down a road of buying things that you won't have to replace, and using yarn that you will love so you don't have to experiment like I did!

YARN

Obviously that is a huge topic, but for the sake of this blog I want to share what I learned at the expense of my wallet. Here is what I learned..

With good yarn you can:

  • Use for practice, and REUSE, without getting tangled or frayed

  • use for practice and able to SEE what you're working with (really important for beginners)

  • IT IS SO SOFT, washable, and usually safe even for baby skin

For BABIES

Here are my absolute FAVORITES, non-negotiable. brands and colors:

ree

More for Babies:

if you want to check out a slightly cheaper option but still absolutely LOVELY to work with start with my dear friends lion brand:

The main thing with baby yarn is to stay away from wool. it can be scratchy and irritate that perfect angel skin.

Large Project Yarn:

Okay here is the deal with big yarn, I LOVE IT! But some are definitely too big to work with if you are just starting out, your hook can get lost in the project and it makes it really hard to see your stitches. Form my experience this has been my favorite starting point to still get that "big fluff" warm cozy blanket without it being too hard to work with!

Check this link out for my favorite big blanket yarn.

HOOKS, NEEDLES AND STITCH KEEPERS

I am going to recommend to levels of kits for this genre. This kit on amazon is absolutely everything ou need to get started before you get too picky! and it tis at a price that won't kill your wallet as you begin this new hobby:

Check it out here!

And finally, the best brand for all of this is going to be our friends at clover. but if I absolutely had to get rid of almost everything I'd still be holding onto:

Absolutely the essentials:)

Now if you are shopping for gifts for a loved one of for yourself (you deserve it) then splurge on a kit that you will NEVER need to order anything else. These are almost always out of stock at our favorite stores like hobby lobby and Michaels, so amazon really rings it in here.

Thank you for following this page I can't wait to give you more content on what I use in my every day life for creating, crocheting, painting, etc.
